The Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy and Richard's children will host this memorial gathering of friends and family. Richard would not have wanted us to fuss over him but he always enjoyed sharing with those in his life. The Indian Community School campus was selected because he enjoyed the schools architecture and its relationship with the land. We would be pleased to continue sharing what Richard felt was important with those of you he worked with, taught ecology to, shared special times, family, and all those who deeply cared about Richard.
The event will begin with guest speakers who will present for approximately 5 minutes each. Others will then be encouraged to share special moments or stories about Richard. Guests are encouraged to bring easy to manage foods and appetizers to share. (Additional details can be found below.)
Richard had a special talent for surrounding himself with wonderful people. We feel bringing you together would be a joyful event that would bring on his catching smile and blink we are already missing. Please join us for this social gathering in Celebration of Richard.
As part of the celebration, his family would like to share Richard's book collection, which mirrors his ecological, spiritual and cultural values. They will be offered as mementos of Richard's life in exchange for suggested donations to MALC in his honor for continued conservation efforts he so passionately supported. The proceeds to MALC will help cover archiving costs of his botanical data for the benefit of future generations.
Volunteers are appreciated to assist with set up that will begin at 10 a.m. the day of. Please consider volunteering for any of the following:
