In 2005, Franklin residents spoke out passionately for the protection of nature in the face of development pressures. A land trust was needed for the conservation of remaining forest and prairie lands in the area. That’s how the Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy (MALC) came to be and now continues to protect and maintain natural lands of the Greater Milwaukee Area.
